Distances and times are approximate and change with traffic, fog and season.
Faridabad families have a choice most others do not: Vrindavan is near enough that a smaller function can be done as a day trip, with the wedding itself held over a night. Below we set out travel options from Faridabad, ways to spread functions across visits, a plan for the main wedding, and how the work splits between your family and our team.
The road route is straightforward. NH-19, the old Delhi-Agra road, runs from Faridabad through Palwal and Kosi Kalan to Mathura. The distance to Vrindavan is about 110-130 km, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic in the town stretches along the highway.
Rail is just as convenient. Faridabad and Ballabgarh both sit on the Delhi-Mathura line, so guests can board close to home and get off at Mathura Junction, where our team meets them for the transfer to Vrindavan. Relatives flying in from other cities land at IGI, which means a longer road transfer that we can organise.
For a group, one bus or a couple of tempo travellers leaving from a single point in Faridabad keeps things tidy, and Ballabgarh-side relatives can be picked up on the way out.
Because the drive is short, some Faridabad families hold the sagai or the haldi in Vrindavan as a same-day outing weeks before the wedding, adding a darshan at Banke Bihari or Radha Raman to the visit. It keeps the main wedding weekend lighter and gives the elders an extra temple trip.
Small family functions suit this especially well. We handle haldi, mehendi and engagement setups through our wedding decor team, at the same standard as the wedding itself, and can arrange lunch and transport for the day.
For the wedding, one night is usually enough from Faridabad:
November to February is the main season, but dense fog in late December and January can slow both road and rail. Fix the muhurat with your pandit, and stay clear of Janmashtami and Holi in Braj, when crowds are very large. If you are looking at winter, read our notes on January and February weddings in Vrindavan and Mathura.
What Faridabad families usually handle: outfits, jewellery, family puja samagri, shagun envelopes and return gifts. With a short drive, the car can carry a fair amount.
What we arrange in Braj: flowers, decor, catering, rooms, transfers and the welcome desk through our hospitality and guest management service. Breakfast can be local kachori-sabzi and jalebi, and Mathura peda makes a natural sweet box for guests.
Please note that meat and liquor are not sold in the main pilgrimage area of Mathura-Vrindavan. Many venues serve vegetarian food and no alcohol, so confirm with your venue before planning the menu.
Our destination wedding page explains the wider service.
Send your dates, the functions you have in mind and a rough guest count through the enquiry form or our contact page, and we will suggest how to arrange things from Faridabad.
About 110-130 km by road along NH-19 through Palwal and Kosi Kalan. The drive takes roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic.
Yes. The drive is short enough to travel down in the morning, hold the function and a temple visit, and be back in Faridabad by night. We arrange the decor and food for the day.
Ballabgarh and Faridabad are both on the Delhi-Mathura line, so guests can ride to Mathura Junction. We collect them at the station and bring them to Vrindavan.
