If you live and work in Gurugram, the hardest part of a Vrindavan wedding is often not the distance but the calendar. This page is for Gurugram couples and their parents who want a wedding in Vrindavan or Mathura that fits around office leave, with planning done mostly over video calls and guests travelling as one group.

Planning remotely when both of you are working

Most Gurugram couples we speak to cannot take repeated weekends off to visit venues in Braj. So we set up the planning the way you probably run projects at work: a short video call each week or fortnight, a shared tracker for decisions, and at most one site visit, ideally combined with a temple trip for the parents.

Between calls we send venue walkthrough videos, decor mock-ups and menus, so approvals can happen in the evening instead of on a day off. Parents who want a bigger say can join the calls from wherever they are. Our venue selection work usually runs this way.

A wedding that fits into three days of leave

Here is a schedule we often propose for a Gurugram couple with a Friday to Sunday window:

Friday: leave Gurugram by mid-morning, reach Vrindavan in the afternoon, check in, and hold the mehendi in the evening.

Saturday: haldi in the morning, a rest after lunch, then the wedding ceremony. If a DJ is playing in an open space, plan for it to stop by 10 pm, which is the usual local limit.

Sunday: an early darshan at Prem Mandir or ISKCON Vrindavan, brunch, and back on the road so everyone is home before the working week begins.

A run-of-show document with timings for every function goes to both families a week ahead, so nobody is guessing. If your leave stretches to a fourth day, a trip to Govardhan or Barsana fits in nicely.

Gathering guests at IGI and travelling down together

Gurugram’s advantage is how close it sits to IGI airport. Out-of-town guests can fly in, meet at a pick-up point near the airport or in Gurugram, and head to Vrindavan together by bus or tempo traveller. That beats a dozen separate cabs and a dozen separate arrival times.

By road the trip is about 180-200 km, roughly 3.5 to 4 hours depending on the route across Delhi or towards the Yamuna Expressway. Time departures to avoid peak office traffic. Guests who prefer rail can go via Delhi stations to Mathura Junction, and we collect them there. Our hospitality and guest management team tracks every arrival and staffs the welcome desk at the venue.

From late December into January, dense fog can delay flights into IGI and slow the drive. Ask guests flying in during those weeks to land a day early if possible.

Your list and our list

From Gurugram: outfits, jewellery, family puja items, return gifts, and anything personalised such as signage with your names. Warm shawls and jackets for winter evenings.

From us, in Braj: flowers, mandap and stage through our wedding decor team, Mathura peda for sweet boxes, caterers who know sattvik cooking, rooms, transfers and entertainment.

A practical point for office friends coming down: meat and liquor are not sold in the main pilgrimage area of Mathura-Vrindavan, and many venues are vegetarian with no alcohol. Confirm the policy with your venue early and let guests know in advance.

Working with us from Gurugram

  1. Intro video call: dates, guest count, leave constraints and budget range.
  2. Venue options and a draft three-day schedule shared in the tracker.
  3. Weekly check-ins until bookings, guest travel from IGI and decor are locked.
  4. On the wedding weekend we run everything on site, so you can switch off your laptop.

Our approach to weddings away from home is described on the destination wedding page.

Tell us your dates, how many days of leave you have and an estimated guest count through the enquiry form or the contact page, and we will draft a schedule that fits around your working week in Gurugram.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Vrindavan from Gurugram by road?

About 180-200 km, which usually takes roughly 3.5 to 4 hours. Much depends on your route and on traffic leaving Gurugram and crossing Delhi.

Can we plan the whole wedding from Gurugram without visiting Vrindavan?

Largely, yes. We share videos, mock-ups and menus over video calls, and most decisions can be made remotely. Many couples still choose one visit to see the venue in person.

What is the easiest way for guests flying into IGI to reach Vrindavan?

Group them. We arrange a meeting point near IGI or in Gurugram and send everyone down together by bus or tempo traveller, with a welcome desk waiting at the venue.

Can a Gurugram couple fit the wedding into a long weekend?

Yes. A Friday-to-Sunday format with mehendi, haldi and the ceremony works for this distance. Check the date with your pandit, and steer clear of Janmashtami and Braj Holi crowds.
